The Friendly Islands of Cook (Tonga) are an archipelago in Equatorial Polynesia, between Fiji and the Wallis Islands in the Northwest, Samoa in the Northeast, the Cook Islands in the East, 18 ° to 22 ° south latitude, 174° to 176 ° west longitude.

It is an independent constitutional Kingdom. About 32 Islands and 150 islets, about 750 km2, and 115000 inhabitants (in 2006). The ports and moorings are quite numerous, thanks to the reefs that shelter the coasts, while making navigation difficult.
