Flag of Solomon Islands

Solomon Islands is an archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. Most of the islands (43 700 km2) make up the sovereign state of the same name (28 450 km2, 552 438 inhabitants in 2006);

Bougainville and the other small islands in the North-West are linked politically to Papua New Guinea. These are volcanic islands flanked by coral formations, the latter emerging singly in several small islands.
