Puerto Rico is an independent autonomous region of The United States in internal affairs. It is northeast of the Caribbean Sea and east of the Dominican Republic. The name means rich port in Spanish.

Puerto Rico is the smallest island in the Greater Antilles. It consists of the main island of Puerto Rico as well as islets such as Mona, Vieques, Culebra. Mona Island is not an island where people stay all the time. It is mostly used by employees of the Puerto Rico Natural Resources Authority or by nature travelers who leave the island on special leave.
