Côte d’ivoire is a state in West Africa, bordered by the Gulf of Guinea. It borders on the West with Liberia and Guinea, on the North with Mali and Burkina Faso, and on the East with Ghana. It is a republic with an area of 322.460 km2 and a population of 20.6 million in 2009.
The country is divided administratively into 19 regions. Yamoussoukro has been the official capital since 1983, but Abidjan , the largest city, remains the administrative and commercial centre of the country. Other large cities : Bouake, Korhogo, Grand Bassam, and its port, Divo, Gagnoa, Bouaflé, Dimbokro, Daloa, Man, Biankouma, Abe,guru, Adzopé, Agboville.
