Where is Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library?
For the visit of the house you should book the introductory tour. It leads through the lavishly furnished rooms in which the founder Henry Francis DuPont used to entertain his family and guests on a grand scale.
Many of the 175 rooms are inspired by historical styles from different eras and furnished with an exceptional collection of antiques. They provide insight into the DuPont family and social life. You can explore the gallery without a guided tour.
There, the curators will show a selection of the Winterthur collection on changing topics on the style history of furniture, glass and porcelain, textiles, metalwork, etc.. Special exhibitions on current topics are also shown.
Particularly attractive is the large park-like garden, which presents some flowering plants almost all year round. You can walk through the garden or ride in a small tramway with explanations.
