Location the Park borders the Canadian province of Ontario. It is located approximately 22 km east of International Falls and approximately 450 km north of Minneapolis-St. Paul

With its varied landscape, especially with its water, it is a testament to the first whites in this area, French travellers (Voyageurs), who as a fur dealer penetrated deep into today’s Midwes

Notes the weather in the Park can change very quickly. In particular, storms can occur in the short term, which make the driving of the Great Lakes with boats life-threatening.
Water should only be drunk boiled. The nearest hospital is far away, which does not guarantee emergency medical care.
The Park is home to many black bears. Exposure to these animals can be very dangerous.
In Winter, it is dangerous to leave the marked trails as cross-country skiers or snowmobile riders due to snow drifts and partly thin ice.
