Vaughan is a city in Canada and is located in the York Region, North of Toronto. Vaughan has almost 290,000 inhabitants. The area on which the city is located today was originally inhabited by the Huron-Wendat people. In the 16th century there lived estimated 2000 members of this tribe. The first Europeans to come here were French.
