Vaughan is a city in Canada and is located in the York Region, North of Toronto. Vaughan has almost 290,000 inhabitants. The area on which the city is located today was originally inhabited by the Huron-Wendat people. In the 16th century there lived estimated 2000 members of this tribe. The first Europeans to come here were French.

Many of the first people living in the Vaughan settlement were German-Stormy citizens from Pennsylvania who lived in the early 18th century. In the early 20th century, they emigrated from the United States. The climate in Vaughan is continental with warm summers and cold winters. Vaughan is in the time zone UTC-5 and UTC-4 in the winter time. The official national languages in Canada are English and French, the currency is the Canadian Dollar.
