Where is United States Botanic Garden?
The United States Botanic Garden is located on the grounds of the Capitol in Washington, D.C. the area is divided into Bartholdi Park and the National Garden. There is also a greenhouse with succulents, roses, orchids and many other plants. For the smaller visitors there is also a children’s area with its own garden and many play opportunities. In Bartholdi Park, guests can enjoy the geometrically laid out beds and the historic fountain. The National Garden, opened in 2006, sees itself as a” living laboratory ” in which visitors can learn interesting facts about horticulture and Botany.
It is impossible to dress appropriately for a visit to the Botanical Garden of the United States. Every room you enter is a completely different environment. Located one Block southwest of the US Capitol Building, the garden grows plants from around the world – including Subtropical, tropical and arid regions. There are a variety of gardens and rooms, all connected by intertwined labyrinthine paths. Two of the most interesting features are the beautiful Rose Garden and a room designed exclusively for fragrances. Perhaps the most unique exhibit is Return of the Titan. This exhibit celebrates the Titanenaron, also corpse flower or stinky plant called. The corpse flower can grow up to 3 meters tall. The flower first bloomed in July 2013, and it may be several years before it does again.
