Where is Torre del Greco Located?
What Country is Torre del Greco in?
Torre del Greco is a suburb of Naples, and is also below the Vesuvius, between Herculaneum and Pompeii.
In Greek times Torre del Greco was probably a residential suburb of Herculaneum with large villas on the Gulf of Naples. At the Great Eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, Torre del Greco was also destroyed.
During further eruptions of Vesuvius in 1631, mud masses and a wide lava flow rolled through the village, forming the Scogli Di Scala Promontory and the coast was shifted by about 500m towards the sea.
