The Keeper of the Plains is a sculpture created in 1974 by an Indian artist at the confluence of the small and large Arkansas Rivers. Especially in the evening this is worth a visit, as the sculpture is illuminated with flames for 15 minutes in summer at 21 and in Winter at 19 O’clock. This Illumination called Ring of Fire is absolutely worth seeing. It is best viewed from stone benches that stand on the banks of the Arkansas River, directly opposite the Statue.
