Where is The Getty?
Even if you do not have to pay for the Getty Center or the Getty Villa entrance fee, you will need a free entrance ticket for the Villa. Parking is usually $ 15 at both museums. This parking fee is charged per vehicle – a good reason for carpooling – but there are even more ways to get the most out of this fee and make the most of your time at the Getty.
A visit after 15: 00
You don’t want to spend the whole day in the Museum? You can visit the Getty Center or the Getty Villa after 15:00, because then you only pay $ 10 for Parking. The Villa closes at 5:00 pm and the Getty Center at 5:30 pm during most of the year, but in summer both remain accessible beyond these hours on some days of the week. The Getty Center is open until 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and the Villa is open until 21:00 on Saturdays.
Bicycle, Bus, Uber or Lyft
You can completely avoid the parking fee if you use public transport, a bicycle or a ride-sharing service such as Uber or Lyft to get to the Getty. Cyclists can park their bikes free of charge at the entrance level of the car park. Those who come with Lyft or Uber can be dropped off in the designated turning area, which is located in front of the parking garage. More details on bus and light rail connections can be found on the Getty Center and Getty Villa pages.
