The Centre Pompidou is Paris. – Centre National d’art et de la Culure Georges Pompidou – was built between 1972 and 1977 on an undeveloped site that served as a parking lot for the market halls of Paris – Les Halles. Until the beginning of the 20th century, many writers and poets lived in the Paris district – Beaubourg. The district also served Victor Hugo as the setting for the novels” Notre Dame de Paris “and”Les Miserables”.

The Centre Pompidou was initiated by former president Georges Pompidou as a cultural centre. In its place were previously only a fallow and a parking lot, which should now be better used.
