Where is Tartu Located?
What Country is Tartu in?
Tartu is the second largest city in Estonia with about 100,000 inhabitants. It is located in the rural Southeast of the Baltic state and is referred to by connoisseurs as the intellectual center of Estonia. A title that couldn’t be more fitting.
The reason for this is very simple: Tartu has been a university town for centuries well beyond the borders of Estonia. The classicist teaching buildings of the Old Town traditionally represent the academic spirit of the city and are rightly regarded as a supraregional symbol of a successful history of teaching and research.
