The dog would probably be buried in Stockbridge were it not for the world-famous Tanglewood Music Festival, which takes place every year in July and August and is, so to speak, the summer residence of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

We were lucky enough to hear tickets for Gustav Mahler’s 5th Symphony, performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, an impressive performance on a beautiful evening. – The evening events include the outdoor picnic, which is literally celebrated by some visitors. Folding chairs and tables, Wine, Food, tablecloths, and even lanterns are brought on ladder trolleys and set up for an outdoor Diner.

Everything would be wonderful, were it not for the unspeakable picnic bags that are offered for 21 dollars. The contents consisted of an elaborately packaged Sandwich, a bowl of salad, a bag of Chips and a bottle of mineral water. The bread was dried, and barely occupied, the so-called salad consisted of quite hard green beans, mixed with an indefinable cheese. – Tip for next time: put together your own picnic, bring it with you and eat it on the meadow before the concert .
