Where is Tabarka Located?
The city and its surroundings is the second youngest holiday region of Tunisia, with its own international airport. During the summer months there are direct flights from many European countries and in low season the airport is served by Tunis Air and other local companies. In addition to Bizerté Tabarka is the second major city along the Tunisian coral coast. Tabarka is characterised by a wonderful location between sea, forests and mountains. The city is part of the province of Jendouba and has a population of 45,494 since the last census (2004).
What Country is Tabarka in?
The city of Tabarka itself is a small port city and is already very well developed in terms of Tourism. Already the Romans showed presence here with the settlement Thabraca, of which the city has also received its name. Tabarka is located about 140 km west of Bizerté. The path leads over a winding road and one touches the towns of Teskraia and Djebel Aboid. The peaceful city has a beautiful medieval fortress, the inhabitants operate among others fishing (hake and sea scar) and diving for corals, but they are also protected here.
