Today, the newly built T-Mobile Arena opens in Las Vegas with The Killers ‘ concert. In the future, the 20,000-capacity Arena wants to bring many new Events to Las Vegas.
The first major events are the tour opening weekend of the reunited band Guns N ‘ Roses and the concerts of country singer George Strait. As the Las Vegas Review Journal reports, more events such as Wrestling Events or hockey games by College Teams could come to the Strip in the future. Las Vegas could also soon host a National Hockey League (NHL) Team (Stadionwelt reported).
According to American Media, the goal for the T-Mobile Arena is to hold 100 events a year. This creates a competitive situation with the other arenas of the city, which could change the entire range of events in Las Vegas.
So far there are 3 big arenas on the Las Vegas Strip. The MGM Grand Garden with 16,800 seats and the Mandala Bay Events Center with 12,000 seats owned by MGM Resorts, as well as the Thomas & Mack Center with 19,522 seats owned by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The T-Mobile Arena, which also belongs to MGM Resorts, wants to assert itself as a venue alongside the three established ones with new Events.
