Where is Southend-on-Sea Located?

Southend-on-Sea is now a classic in the TOMMY range. The city offers a great combination of a vibrant, English coastal town and an extremely good connection to London. This is the ideal destination for groups planning a special London focus in their programme. Our groups come back to Germany enthusiastically.

What Country is Southend-on-Sea in?

Southend is located on the northern shore of the Thames Estuary and thus almost on the open (North)Lake. With around 200,000 inhabitants, it is the largest city in the county of Essex. Large urban areas are Victorian, dating back to the 19th century. From an early age, it was obvious that the special location of this easily accessible coastal town outside the gates of the capital was appreciated.

Today, however, Southend-on-Sea is a modern and lively seaside resort with excellent shopping facilities, cafes, theaters, cinemas, large Parks and many good leisure facilities for children and young people. And like every real seaside resort, Southend-on-Sea has a Pier. It is the longest in the world (and all the pride of its inhabitants) with a length of about two kilometers. Some of Southend’s attractions are located here: a Museum and the Sea Rescue Station show some exciting aspects of the Urban Development. If you want, you can also use the Pier Railway (!) at the end of the pier, drink a coffee there and wander back comfortably. Or how about a little boat tour ?
