Where is Ségou Located?

The former residence of the Bambara Kings is pictorially located on the banks of the Nigerians. The current town of Balanzan (trees) about 230 km east of Bamako is an interesting Station on the way to Mopti, Timbuktu, Gao or Kidal. Ségou is a quieter city than Bamako and not as touristy as Djenné.

With the avenues and ocher-coloured magnificent buildings made of sandstone, this important colonial city with its unmistakable charm offers an impression of an African city of that era. Founded in 1652, Ségou is today the capital of the 4th century BC. Region and the industrial and economic center of the country.
