Where is Piura Located?

In the past, Piura was a small, sleepy town in the middle of the desert north Peru. But thanks to El Nino, small trees and bushes grow here and there and the area becomes greener instead of greener. And that’s not the only thing that has grown here. Also Piura itself has developed more and more into a popular destination, and even if you might not necessarily spend two weeks here, it is a nice change for a two day. What makes the city on the river of the same name? Its incredibly friendly inhabitants – and the uniquely delicious food.

The streets of Piura are always immersed in sunlight. Resorts and beaches of the Region are popular with surfers: Máncora, Colán, Los Órganos, Vihayito, Cabo Blanco (known for being the home of the writer Ernest Hemingway) and Lobitos. It is also possible to visit colonial churches in the region and to visit handicrafts villages such as Chulucanas and Catacaos. There are also lakes where healing powers are spoken, such as the Las Huaringas. Piura Peru: the Sechura desert is located in the largest arid area. Among the most famous celebrations in the Region is the Fiesta del Señor Cautivo, the Feast in honor of the prisoners of Christ, in Ayabaca, and the Semana Santa, the Holy week in Catacaos. Religious worship plays an important role at both festivals.

The gastronomy is extremely diverse. Piura is considered a region of eternal summer.
