Where is Pakse Located?

Pakse is the second largest city of Laos with almost 90,000 inhabitants. Located just 40 km from the Thai border, it is the city most influenced by Thai influences. For tourists arriving from Thailand, Pakse is therefore the” gateway ” to Laos and most of them do not stay here for long. Although Pakse has a good infrastructure and a number of good Hotels, such as the Champasak Palace in the stylish ambience of the French colonial period, but only built in the 1960’s.

Pakse (also Paxe) is the largest city in the South of Laos and a starting point of choice for trips and excursions. The city itself is rather unspectacular, and yet very relaxed and cosy with good Restaurants.
