The Overland Park Botanical Gardens are definitely a gem in the Kansas bin area. I frequent the gardens and always enjoy my visit. I always find new additions to the Park, there are so many hiking trails, and different portions of the Park to visit. The current botanical gardens around the lake is beautiful, I always spend time here before hiking. You can then follow the trails behind the gardens and explore.

I do not know how many kilometers of hiking trails there, but you can walk for several hours. The paths are well maintained and not difficult. A Tip: Bring Insect Spray. I always get something from mosquitoes here. There are parks for children and dogs are even allowed on certain portions. If you enter on Tuesday, admission is free. I highly recommend going to the Botanical Gardens and allow yourself time to explore the area.
