One of its other Highlights is tucked away away from the tourist crowds at its extreme southern end, right on the Mexican border: the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.

The park owes its name to the organ Pipes (Organ Pipe cacti), which are only found here in the park in the USA. In addition, however, the Park also offers all the other diversity of desert plants, including the saguaros typical of Arizona.

Close to the park there are also two large mountains – the Ajo and the Puerto Blanco Mountains. Two non-asphalted Scenic Drives run along the mountains and offer not only insights into the flora and Fauna of the Sonoran desert, but also the possibility to reach different Trailheads.
