Opened in 1902, the 45-acre Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is home to over 1,700 animals of various species from around the world. Animals of the same habitat live together in differently designed enclosures. In the Cat Forest visitors can see lions, tigers and snow leopards. In addition, the Zoo offers a beautiful butterfly garden, where you can also discover many different types of plants. In 2010, the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden also created a petting zoo for children by allowing them to pet or play with animals otherwise found on farms.
