Oak Alley Plantation is a special Hotel. Oak Alley Plantation is a piece of contemporary history, a work of art and a memorial at the same time. Built in 1830 by the “king of Sugar“ Valcour Aime, the plantation is located on the west side of the Mississippi River in the small community of Vacherie, near New Orleans. Aime sold the sugar plantation a short time later and only his successor had the imposing main house built in the style of Greek Revival Architecture. This form of architecture is today considered the classic architectural style of the southern states and is often referred to as Antebellum architecture. The probably most beautiful feature of the Oak Valley plantation is the dreamlike eponymous Oak Avenue, which extends like a canopy about 250 m long double row to the main house.

The 8 cottages at Oak Alley Plantation, where guests can stay overnight, are located a few meters behind the main house and are classically and comfortably furnished.

Amenities at Oak Alley Plantation include a Restaurant, Gift Shop, and guided tours are offered daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 pm, where you’ll learn all about plantation life, architecture, and long-standing slavery in the southern states. The guided tours are not part of the overnight stay.
