Nagykanizsa (about 50 000 inhabitants) is a large Hungarian town about 40 km southwest of Balaton in the region of Westtransdanubia. It is flown through the principal channel. For the tourist, Nagykanizsa is relatively modest in view of its history and present size – a consequence especially of the two World Wars; nevertheless, it is worth a visit thanks to its cultural life and the old times reflecting atmosphere of the city center.
