The Mount Greylock State Reservation is home to Mount Greylock. The park borders several towns including Lanesborough, North Adams, Adams, Cheshire, Williamstown and New Ashford in Berkshire County. Mount Greylock is the highest point in Massachusetts at 3,491 feet.

Over the surrounding Berkshire countryside there is a dramatic view of the distance of 60 to 90 miles. It became the first Wilderness State Park in Massachusetts, acquired by the Commonwealth in 1898 to preserve its natural environment for public enjoyment. The wild and rugged yet intimate and accessible, Mount Greylock rewards the visitor exploring this special place of scenic and natural beauty.

With over 70 km of trails, including a section of the Appalachian Trail and the Thunderbolt Ski Trail, the Park has plenty to offer for outdoor Fans. You can reach the summit via several trails in the area, including Hopper, Stony Ledge, CCC Dynamite, Bellows Pipe and Bernard Farm. Check out the war memorial tower at the summit and Bascom Lodge. Bascom Lodge on the summit offers overnight stays and meals from late May to mid / late October. The Lodge was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The Park can be easily reached from Boston or New York City.
