Brief information Mesa Verde, in German “grüner Tisch”, is one of the most idiosyncratic Parks in the USA. Of course, there is also an interesting animal and plant life, but the focus is on the houses built by the Anastazi Indians, of which impressive ruins have passed. These buildings, because of their conservation, their location in the Cliffs and their size, provide unique evidence of the farming culture already lost before the arrival of Europeans. Mesa Verde is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Opening time generally open all year round, however, Cliff Palace and Balcony House are closed in Winter.
From here, Access is only possible with private vehicles. In the Park no public transport.
Admission fee, National Park Pass and Golden Eagle Pass will be honored
Additional tickets are required for individual guided tours.

Overnight in Morfield Campground or Far View Lodge (reservation strongly recommended)
It is essential to take part in the guided tours to the Balcony House, to the superb Cliff Palace and to the Long House.
On Wetherill Mesa (West) other accessible houses, including Steep House and Badger House Community
Along the cliff line, there are other houses, some of which are inaccessible or difficult to access.
Note Cliff Palace is visited by steep ladders and passes through narrow passages. The visit is exhausting, especially if you have not got used to the unusual altitude (higher than 2,000 meters).
