Rhododendrons as large as bridal bouquets, dahlias in bright pop colors, Ferns, fuchsias, juice plants – one might think that a list of what does not grow in this lush Reserve must be shorter than the list of what thrives here splendidly.

Stroll through the various plantings with perennials, trees and bushes – including many native ones. Spring is of course a particularly rewarding season. But also bird friends get their money’s worth here: about 150 bird species are regular guests – so don’t forget your binoculars!

Master gardeners and other professionals teach throughout the year in a series of seminars. Check the event calendar to see if there is something interesting for you and fits into your travel plan. If you come in Winter (from late November to mid-December), you can see how the gardens shine at the festival of Lights.
