The Louisville Zoological Garden was founded in 1969 and houses over 1300 animals. The 55-acre Zoo in Louisville, Kentucky has made it its goal to improve people’s relationship with our planet and to take an interest in environmental and species protection issues. In the 16,000 large “Gorilla Forest” enclosure, visitors can watch the eleven Western Lowland Gorilla, three Patas Monkeys, and four hippos. Other animals worth seeing include the Sumatran tigers, kangaroos or the Masai giraffes.
