The USA: for many a pure roller coaster Mecca. Time and again, the large parks stand out with new coasters, which – whether wooden or made of steel, Flying, Inverted or Multilooper – complete daring maneuvers and impress visitors with their size and speed.

But even smaller Parks promise no less fun in the land of unlimited possibilities. We would like to introduce some American theme parks here in loose order. This time we stop at the amusement park Lake Compounce, which is idyllically located on the lake of the same name and is about two hours drive from New York. Boulder Dash is one of the best wooden roller coasters in the world.

The roots of Lake Compounce can be traced back to the year 1846. The first leisure offers rowing boats, picnic tables, a pavilion for concerts and of course the opportunity to swim in the lake. The first roller coaster was opened in 1914 and ran until 1926. Then it was replaced by the wooden coaster the Wildcat, which is still in operation today.
