Where is Kosti Located?

For northern Sudanese conditions, Koti is a refreshingly green place. The great city on the banks of the White Nile River, about 260 kilometers south of Khartoum, owes its importance to the Nile trade route. At the port there is a busy traffic with regular departures to Malakal and Juba in the South.

The Nile in the Kosti flows wide and calm, and here many species of birds find a home, fishermen cast out their net. Travellers will discover the shore with its lush green meadows and countless mango trees. In the neighbouring Rabak region, the Kenana Sugar Company is the main employer for around 12,000 people in the Region. Nearby is Aba island with the al-Kar Mosque of Muhammad Ahmad.
