Where is Ko Phayam Located?

Koh Phayam is located in the middle of the Andaman Sea, known as one of the most beautiful diving areas in the world. The southernmost island of Thailand is just ten kilometers long and five kilometers wide-and there are no cars! A few tractors are the only motorised four-wheelers, otherwise you will stay on Koh Phayam either motorbikes or the good old walk on Schusters Rappen. But that is precisely what makes up a large part of the fascination that emanates from the idyllic island in the middle of the azure sea.

What Country is Ko Phayam in?

The island has only slowly opened up to tourism and even today there are relatively few Hotels and Resorts – most of them in the picturesque Ao Yai Bay (Sunset Bay). This makes it possible to discover completely empty bays for yourself and to enjoy the absolute tranquility on the beach.

On Koh Phayam only 500-600 inhabitants live mostly Muslim faith, which partly explains why alcohol flat rates and degenerating drinking rages are definitely not the order of the day here. In the past, the inhabitants mainly fed on the cultivation of peanuts and rubber, today tourism plays an increasingly important role and in the peak season the number of inhabitants can increase rapidly when the Hotels are in full occupation.
