Klaipeda is the third largest city in Lithuania with about 183,000 inhabitants and undisputed economic center and cultural center of western Lithuania. The port of Klaipeda is the northernmost ice-free port on the east coast of the Baltic Sea and one of the region’s attractions. It is the most important transport link between East and West. Every year, more than 7000 ships from 45 countries arrive here and it loads well over 30 million tons of cargo.
