Where is Jewel Cave National Monument? How much does it cost to get into Jewel Cave?

Where is Jewel Cave National Monument?

Jewel Cave is located a few miles outside the Black Hills towards Wyoming. With a length of 212 km, the cave is the second largest cave system in the USA, after the Mammoth Caves in Kentucky.

The jewels that gave the cave its name are not real jewels, but crystals and little knobbles. I don’t know how to describe it better. Visually, the cave does not bring much, it is rather interesting for the geologist.

You can participate in 4 different tours, the so-called spelunking Tour is the most difficult and with 3-4 hours also the longest. Only those who can hang on under the plate can participate, because that’s how tight it gets on the way. So nothing for me….
The Scenic Tour, the Lantern Tour and the Jewel Cave Discovery Tour are relatively simple.
