The Gothic-style Holy Name Cathedral was built in 1875 as the successor to the two churches Cathedral of Saint Mary and Church of the Holy Name, both of which were destroyed in the Great Fire of 1871. The church has a very beautiful external appearance with the 64m high church tower, whereby its architectural style offers a very varied picture compared to the modern skyscrapers around.

If you step through the heavy bronze doors, you will be greeted by a huge church interior, with space for up to 2000 people. The interior, the many ornaments, the impressive altarpiece and the organs impress equally and create a special atmosphere.
