As we drive through Glenwood Canyon, we are overwhelmed. This 12.5 mile (about 20 kilometers) long Canyon is absolutely spectacular. In 1905, Colorado Senator Edward T. Taylor wished that the road through Glenwood Canyon would eventually become a “Broadway” that people talk about.

Today, the road through Glenwood Canyon is the most celebrated section of the Highway system in the United States. Part of this route is the Hanging Lake District section. When we drove through here, we suddenly knew: we have to stop. Whether it fit the schedule or not. But we really wanted to see this beautiful area. And it was worth it.
