Where is Hamamatsu Located?
Hamamatsu in Shizuoka Prefecture is an area that includes the Hamamatsu City, Kosai City and Kakegawa city. It is equally far from Tokyo and Osaka.
What Country is Hamamatsu in?
Hamamatsu is often associated with Tokugawa Ieyasu, who was the first Shogun of the Edo Shogunate. Ieyasu lived for 17 years between the ages of 29 and 45 in the Hamamatsu Castle in Hamamatsu City.
Hamamatsu is also home to the world-renowned musical instrument manufacturer Yamaha, Kawai and Roland and is particularly famous for producing western musical instruments including Pianos. At the Hamamatsu Musical Instrument Museum in the city there are 1300 instruments from all over the world on display and it is a recommended stop for people who are interested. There are interactive exhibits in the music class room. Concerts are also held and visitors can listen to Rare Instruments.
