Where is El Kef Located?

From Tabarka we start today, in a southerly direction about Babouch and Ain Drahahim to El Kef (Le Kef) on the GP 17, and touch Jendouba. From here, continue on the GP 17 to the intersection with the GP 5, in Borj El Aifa. Here we keep to the right towards El Kef, which we reach after about another 18 kilometers. The city is located on a mountain slope in a picturesque landscape.

What Country is El Kef in?

El Kef is located in the border region and is about 35 kilometers far from the Algerian border. During the French protectorate period, the city received the name Le Kef (French) and from 1956 again its old name. The city is located in the northwest of Tunisia and is also the capital of the province of the same name. The distance to the capital Tunis is about 150 kilometers. El Kef has about 45 000 inhabitants [1] and is now a regional market Centre at a strategically located intersection on the way to Algeria.
