More than 5,000 animals from more than 700 species live on the 2.3 square kilometer area of the Columbus Zoo. The zoo is divided into the areas of African Forest, Asia Quest, Australia and the Islands, North America and Shores and thus takes its visitors on a journey around the world. Endangered Gorillas can be found here as well as kangaroos or sharks in their 100,000 gallon saltwater Tank. The Zoo also includes the Zoombesi Bay Water Park, Safari Golf Park and Jack Hannah’s into the Wild, a program designed to give visitors a new understanding of animals.
