The town of Chomutov is located at the foot of the Ore Mountains in northwestern Bohemia, near the border with Germany. The city was built at the intersection of the old trade routes connecting Prague with Leipzig and Cheb with Ústí nad Labem. The history of the settlement dates back to the stone age. The first written mention about the town comes from the year 1252, where Bedřich Načeradec gave the small town of Chomutov to the order of German knights.
