Where is Chlef Located?

Algeria is probably the African country with the greatest risk of earthquakes. This is also confirmed by a view of the map of historical quakes (below). The epicenters are clustered around Algiers.

With a speed of around four centimeters per year, the African continental plate pushes against and over the large Eurasian Plate, on which Germany is also located. A consequence of this Confrontation, the unfolding of the North African Atlas mountains, with its parallel mountain chains. This process is associated with earthquakes in Algeria and Morocco.
