The city of Chinandega is located near the Pacific Ocean and at the foot of Nicaragua‘s highest volcano, the San Cristóbal. The favourable climate and fertile volcanic soils allow the cultivation of oranges, sugar cane, bananas, peanuts and cotton. From Chinandega comes the world’s highest awarded Rum “Flor de Caña”.
