Where is Charles Paddock Zoo Located

The Zoo was founded in 1955 by Charles Paddock, a park supervisor who took care of sick wild animals. Four years later, his animal show was able to show more than 125 wild birds and mammals. In 1963, the Zoo moved from the local animal shelter to its current location and became known as Atascadero Children’s Zoo. Today, over 2 acres of beautiful Atascadero Lake Park can be admired by over 100 animals.
