Where is California Academy of Sciences?
High heels, skimpy skirts, homemade Cocktails and an Albino Alligator: San Francisco is known for pushing the boundaries, but this event, which takes place every Thursday night in Golden Gate Park, goes one step further.
The city’s leading Science Museum, of all places, organises these “Nightlife” Events, which are particularly popular with young and “hip”people, and which focus on specific topics. Every week, the imaginative staff of the academy come up with new ways to present interesting topics in a cool way – such as why animals wander or how they can see at night.
The respective exhibitions give you the rare opportunity to talk to the scientists of the academy or to view animals up close. Live music provides the mood, and Drinks specially created to match the event’s Motto are served at various points. By the way, the alligator is called Claude, is naturally pigment-free and lives in the swamp enclosure of the Academy.
