Where is Bursa Located?

Bursa (about 1.5 million inhabitants) is the fourth largest city of Turkey located beautifully at the foot of the 2,500 m high mount Uludag and the Nilüfer river. It is about 150 km to the south from Istanbul.

It is known for its thermal and Sulphur Springs. These were already appreciated in antiquity. Bursa was the first capital of the Ottomans, before later Istanbul became the capital. Today the capital of Turkey is called Ankara.
