Bishkek is the capital of Kyrgyzstan, is located at 800 meters and officially has 937,400 inhabitants (as of 2015), whereby it will be over a Million due to the rural exodus. In the 6./7. Century. there were earliest settlements. It was once a caravan station on the way to the Tienshan mountains.

In 1825, the Khan of Kokand had a clay fortress (Pischpek fortress) built to provide storage places for the caravans traveling on the Silk Road. Unfortunately, the fortress was destroyed again during the battles with the Tsarist army in the 19th century. After that, the city, which at that time bore the name Pishpek, was built by the Russians as if in a checkerboard pattern and provided with Parks, Water Channels and monumental monuments. In 1926, the town was renamed Frunze in honor of Soviet General Mikhayl Frunze.
In the period of the Great Patriotic War 1941-45 Frunze established itself from a provincial town to an industrial metropolis. It was not until 1991 that the town got the name Bishkek. So the city is framed by the Kyrgyz mountains, a Western part of the Tien Shan in the South and owes its lush Vegetation, the rivers Ala-Archa and Alamedin, which run through the city.
