Brief description the Biscayne National Park is popular among the inhabitants of Greater Miami due to its recreational value. In addition, the park, set up in 1968, preserves an important marine ecosystem with mangrove coasts, Wadden landscapes, unspoiled islands and coral reefs. The Park is exclusively exposed to water. A boat is always necessary.

A boat (also available for hire at Convoy Point) is a prerequisite. Several hour trips (glass bottom boats to the coral reefs, trips to Elliott and Boca Chita Key), including snails. Diving trips for SCUBA-licensed divers are offered. Reservation is necessary. Canoe rental is available to discover the mangrove swamps. Nature trails on Boca Chita Key and Elliott Key.
