Where is Balikpapan Located?
In the East of the island of Borneo, the city of Balikpapan is located. The city is located on the Indonesian part of the island and belongs to the Indonesian territory. It is part of the Region Kalimantam Timur. Balikpapan is located directly on the “road of Makassar” and about 150 kilometers from the city of Samarinda, the capital of Kalimantam Timur province. With around half a Million inhabitants, Balikpapan is not only one of the largest cities on Borneo, but also one of the largest cities in Indonesia.
