Where is Arches National Park Located?
The many arched rock formations in Arches National Park are the result of natural forces – such as water, ice and extreme temperatures-and subsequent Erosion. It took more than 100 million years to form these sheets. One day they will disappear again, because the forces of nature do not stop influencing these naturally created works of art.
What Country is Arches National Park in?
On a beautiful Sunny day, it is almost unimaginable to remember these events. However, the testimonies of the Earth’s history depicted are probably unique, because nowhere in the world are there more such stone arches (engl.: arches) than here. There are around 2,000 – some only with openings of one metre in length – some, such as the gigantic Landscape Arch, even up to 93 metres from one base to another.
Even today, new stone arches are constantly forming, while the old ones are increasingly decaying. Erosion and weathering are now, however, only slow, but are nevertheless merciless. Here it is clearly shown how much the landscape is subject to endless dynamic change.
