Anderson Japanese Gardens was created in 1978 by Japanese Designer Hoichi Kurisu and was originally the private park of Rockford-based entrepreneur John Anderson. In 1988, John and Linda Anderson donated the garden to the Rockford Rotary Charitable Association.

Experts from the USA and Japan are working intensively on the site. Guests can explore the magnificent gardens on their own or as part of guided tours.
